Baseball betting information?

Ok I always bet on Basketball, but now I am looking to get into baseball, but I am unsure of what some of the stuff means. I am betting over at pinnacle....
Run line is basically like a spread right? need to win by that many runs correct? Also, it has someone needs to start, that is the pitcher right? How much difference does that make for the odds?

Run-line....correct...just like a spread

As for the pitchers...if you select listed pitchers and one of them does not start your bet will be no action, if you select "action" and a pitcher does not start, your bet still counts but, the line will be re-adjusted and wagers will be graded using the opening price for the new pitcher....so the effect depends on who the pitchers were/are...
